Self-reverence

The women from the Healing Arts Circle at The Center for Wisdom's Women plus two guests from the Maine General Prevention and Healthy Living Program created these uplifting and powerful expressions of self-reverence.

Stillness Graces Your Heart

Yellow Warbler

Stillness Graces Your Heart

Earth brown eye

Stillness graces your heart..

Gives your feathers and voice a rest

Sometimes the infinite

lives and moves

in the quiet.

Snapping Turtle

The Seen and Unseen

We see so little

of what is swimming below the surface

 in golds and greens.

What pushes these strong legs into the murky water...

Where have they been...

Where are they going?

What creation stories

lie within this snapping turtle...

 as it navigates the seen

and unseen world?

Glass Mandalas & Paintings from Summer 2017 Women's Healing Glass Workshop

Mandalas and paintings of healing qualities created by the spirited women in the Summer 2017 Healing Glass Workshop at Stained Glass Express. As one art form playfully unfolded into another, paintings inspired fusing glass Mandalas creating a pathway to realizing the blessings of one's being.

If only we saw far enough...

If only we saw far enough

into white lilies

 where suffering

rises up

Transformed...

In the Kingbird's Dream

In the kingbird's dream

 ancestors

 filter through

white birches and lily pads

making their presence known

in hallowed whispers.

Spaces

Wood Duck Family

Spaces

Without any words

The spaces between yellow

water lilies...

The spaces between a family

of wood ducks

Tell a story

A story, that with one gentle movement

closer or farther away...

 changes everything.

Seaweed and the Sea

Sea Gull in Flight

Seaweed and the Sea

 Is it innocence

which lifts the wings

of the heart...

Is it in these moments

that the seaweed

becomes the sea?

The Iris and The Heron

Iris

The Iris and The Heron

The veins of love run deep

There is a light in the throat of love

calling us home

To let our wings fall over

from the weight of love

and yet like a heron in a treetop,

 standing in love

 can make eyes fierce

 and wings rise up.

Fusing Glass Triangles

These stellar fusing glass triangles are an expression of the heart songs living within each woman in the Healing Arts Circle at the Center for Wisdom's Women. There is also a powerfully loving felt collage at the end.

A Fire That Cannot Be Ignored

A Fire That Cannot Be Ignored

A fire that cannot be ignored;

The flame in your eye

burns through the sham...

Creating patterns out of chaos,

cooled by spring water

but never extinguished.

Your pomegranate eye

cradles the seed of darkness

until it bursts with light.
